I am a Senior Engineer with the Cobb County Water System - Stormwater Management Division. My wife and I have 4 four kids in college and I am heavily involved with my church. When gas prices began climbing again in 2008 I began looking for a new daily driver to replace my Suburban which was costing me $130 per fill-up. I wanted something that got decent gas mileage but was still fun to drive. The Miata seemed like a good deal. After much online searching I purchased my '95 Brilliant Black MX5 in 2008 from Jeff "$tick" Davis - the Amazing Rhythm Aces original bass player and now well-known session artist in Nashville. The car was in excellent shape and had an awesome sound system which I have since improved by adding a new head unit and Rockford Fosgate amp.
Up until now I have only been keeping up with maintenance. I just finished replacing the timing belt and water pump (oil seals, etc) a few weeks ago at 120K. However, I have been wanting to improve the handling and am currently awaiting delivery of a Stage I Suspension Upgrade from Flyin' Miata to replace my tired stock shocks and springs. I'm sure this will be a big improvement. I am looking forward to trying them out at Novice Day down at AMS next weekend. My son is trying to get me involved with him in autocross. I am looking forward to it. Hopefully, I will see some of you there!
