Just joined the forum!! As a new Miata owner its cool to find such a wealth of information from other enthusiasts. I've spent a lot time under the hoods of fords.......rebuilt and eventually sold my GT-350 but I'm stoked to get into this miata. Drove one........fell in love with it.......spent the next 4 months searching for the right car. Bought it and now I'm building a short list of "Wants" to add to my ride but they'll have to wait for a while....

I'm thinking suspension first....
Definately want to boost it in the near future...

Is that because you park the black n red together? :P

Thanks guys.....I've read a few threads on here regarding suspension and it looks like everyone has some individual input. Its totally stock right now and sits too high in the saddle....I dont want to slam it but I definately want it much lower than it is today.........what recommendations can you give on shocks/coils???

Welcome. The red and black looks good.

I know it's cliche, but figure out exactly what you want with the car and then build the suspension from there.

I'm happy with my stock Bilsteins and H&R race springs, JZilla loathes my springs but loves his saggy old china-springs. We've got other folks that will tell you if you don't drop 4 grand on some remote res. racer shock set-up that you're a complete tosser. Just figure out how you want to drive and then go for it.

Uh, sorry for the rant... back to the coffee

LOL...well I appreciate the feedback Bernie!

What I DO know - I wont be spending 4 grand on the suspension!....I'm guessing a set of adjustable KYB and a decent set of coil overs will do the job for now.....I can always dig deeper later.

What I DONT know - What a "Tosser" is......

Hopefully not knowing doesnt instantly catgorize me.......but the risk was assumed HA..

I'm looking forward to joining some of the events and learning more about this money pit...

I've been researching suspension options so when its time to upgrade mine I'll be ready. Best bang for the buck seems to be adjustable shocks (or revalved bilsteins) and coilover kit (ground control or ebay). That way you can adjust ride height to your liking, and ride quality/handing by playing with spring rates. Or spend $1500 for a custom FCM (fatcat motorsports) setup, which is highly recommended if you can afford it.

I cant believe you guys can wait 4 months to get a car when you know what you want, I am not nearly that patient. I usually just buy what looks like the best deal at the time and plan on spending some extra time/money on getting it running proper. So far I haven't been bitten too hard.

Thanks eyeballs! It looks like thats the direction I'm heading...adjustable KYB and coilovers. I think I'll make that happen next week if I get some other crap done.....

Truthfully, I'm not too patient with everything.......but I knew I wanted a clean NB and everthing that I looked at had "something" that I didnt like about it. I found this one in Columbia SC and was glad I waited...it's exactly what I was looking for.
