No looking for aftermarket header, I'm looking to start freeing up the flow starting with the header and working my way back piece by piece because I make no money after the header I have to save to get the catback

If you have a 94-97 save your money for something else. A header will give minimal gains.

I plan on full exhaust I just can't get it all at once and am starting with the header. And I have a 96 what would be a better use of my Money as I have saves up for the header and only have 150- 175 tops to play with

A head shave to minimum spec is the best bang for the buck. $50 from a machine shop and a new $60 head gasket (+ your labor)

yes that NOPI. They even have a brick and mortar store. Hell at one time they had 6-7 stores. Before the car show scene 'bout killed them.

I have one on my ITA car, have done LOTS of dyno testing of different headers and exhaust configs on 1.8 miatae.
-99% of what is for sale cheap make LESS HP and TQ than stock.
-The above header made damn near identical HP/TQ/AFR curves as the much pricier racing beat we tested using a full length race only exhaust.
-nothing we have tested to date makes more than a 4hp increase over a hand selected factory manifold, downpipe and Springfield Dyno Spec exhaust.
There is VERY little to be gained with a header on a miata

Thanks again for all the info guys, I know it's little gains that's not all it's about the gains, I like the way a header looks, and I'm going catback a little bit at a time, and pat. I WISH I could buy a spare head, heck a spare motor just so I could take it apart and put it together and familiarize myself more with it but I don't have the room or money I don't even have my own place

I Think what The issue here is,At a certain income level(Kitchen manager at a Pizza joint),There is a limited amount available at any given time for mods....and Shortround wants Instant mod gratification...he wants tangible evidence of his work....Not the hollow satisfaction of saving money for the proper exhaust..I understand.My advice...buy a good used header,do it to make your self happy,after all this is why we do this..Right?Just do so with the above mentioned Knowledge,**** Randy Knows more about Miatas than any one alive!

Well header/ exhaust is on hold anyway forgot Monday was valentines day I will be killed if Jango gets a header and Evelyn get nothing
