This will be slowly updated but I wanted to show everyone my new little project. My goal is to just clean it up and make it presentable.

Here she is - my 4th white car in a row.

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_HpSd9ko1K_g/TTqTrSaD4uI/AAAAAAAAAr8/YY4XdC5fUoc/s800/IMAG0023.jpg

Came with a rattle canned hardtop and the door speakers don't work. Seems pretty mechanically sound.

PLANS

Paint the rattled OEM roof painted either satin or gloss black. This will keep me in my budget unless someone can match the color for cheap. Reply or PM if you know a guy who knows a guy.

OKAY, I plan on trying the Raceland coilovers. I've researched extensively and found some good review and some not so good ones. My thinking is that I don't plan on tracking or anything so I want a good drop. If they suck, I'm only out $350. (+ whatever else might break when the epic fail happens :) )

15x8 0 offset xxr 522s or 513s. I may be even considering 16's now. :D I've seen a couple I love

Racing beat header and some classy exhaust. Haven't figured it out yet.

For the FAR FAR future, I plan on buying another 1.8 to tear down and build to replace. But this will do for now.

.................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ..........................

Installed audio.
Did a tune-up and brakes... some other miscellaneous things.

OOOKAY.

I ordered a Borla Exhaust and the Raceland's. I went with the XXR 513's but I went with 7 wides and a +15 offset. They should be on their way soon but it might be a minute before I get tires on them.
Exhaust gets here Monday and the Coils on Tues. Hopefully I will have the car low and loud and will be able to make it the the V on thursday since it will be nice outside. (fingers crossed).

and... I'm out of money for a while. lol.

PICS SOON

Got the Borla exhaust and it looks really well made. I have a stud stuck in the Cat so it isn't on yet. I've been driving to work very obnoxiously ;)

Got the Racelands on and they ride pretty well for how low I have them set right now. I will be going about 1 to 3/2 inches higher when I get the wheels ( ON TUESDAY!!! ). I didn't have the time I thought I would so I didn't get to take the time to adjust them like I want them.
-------------------------

Got the wheels and tires on. Scrub pretty badly. I need to find the time to get it done by a pro

------------------------------

Today I did some small things. I painted the rusty windshield wipers and replaced the door trim. Spent most of my time trying to roll ze fenders more.

Old Trim

Most recent pic.

The only updates i have to offer are...

Sidebolts installed for the hardtop.
Fenders are rolled
Got a great alignment
DDM Works Intake
Sourced A Header... will go on when... MAH NEW MOTOR GOES IN!!!! >more info down
Cat-bye

And this is the engine I sourced.

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt351/wonton96/95%20R-Package%20Miata/IMG_0196.jpg

This is the description given to me by the seller:

"viton valve seals, it has a some porting, the bowls have been deshrouded and slightly polished. Also there is zero casting flaws in this head which is somewhat rare to find.

the block has been slightly decked and shaved (same thing they do with spec miata motors) upgraded piston rings (they are a lil less snug than OEM to cut down on friction without compromising compresion) The rotating assembly has been fully balanced and has new bearings and new gaskets everywhere! the water pump and timing belt has 1k on it (i picked it up from metalman) and the oil pump gears have been checked and clearanced."

I'm going to pick up as soon as it's ready for me. :D

HOPEFULLLY it will be in within the next few months

---------------------------------------------

Guy is back from Cali, So I hope to get that motor soon. If not, I have sourced a 00' motor with 88k for a bit less. It's more work but a better motor.

So, I got a tan soft top, frame, rain rail, rear window storage protector, and all install hardware for $40.

Installed the header, deleted the Cat. Lowered her a lil more.

Tons of other minor things that I can't remember. Here are a couple cell pics.

^^prepping the hardtop for a little spray. I wanna get the whole thing painted at once. But, I'd rather get the motor in first. We'll see what my budget allows. :(

Sorry for the terrible quality.

___________________________________

Well, the guy decided to keep his BP... no worries. BP-4W swap already in the works. :D

I don't have huge plans for it when I get it. :/ Building motors costs BIG dinero. Imma throw on some adj fidanza cam gears and do the timing belt/water pump. Other than that, a nice clutch and a light flywheel are my only realistic desires. Probably no flywheel though.

After the swap is done. Imma paint the car.

What I really want to do is take my time, prep the body, and do the jambs myself. Then take it somewhere (probably sprayglo or kizkustoms ) and have them do a single stage. The plan is WHITE with absolutely no tints in it at ALL. I want people to look at it on a sunny day and be blinded. lolol

I've been considering the RB bumper. It's different. I like it sometimes, and others I don't.

It looks super sexy with the splitter.

http://www.trackdogracing.com/website/product_photos/rb_splitter.jpg

I will not be getting side skirts though. I don't like em'.

From there on, I really want a MS and to attempt to piece together some boost pieces. Either Turbo or SC'd. (that's farfetched for a college kid whose parents have no jobs).

and smaller tires...

We'll see.

EDIT: Oh yeah... my lolol shift knob. :D

4th white car in a row huh? I've always wanted a white car, yet never end up with one. The hardtop would look great in white vs the black, but it's your car!
I look forward to seeing the progress of you car/build. Great 1st journal entry!

Holy **** dude. Love the hardtop, I'm with Calvin, black would be awesome. When I get one that's what I'll do. Mine is white, boreal exhaust, and ricelands. We need pics together. No homo. Looking classy dude!!

I'm going with the black top because it's cost effective. The factory colors are expensive. :( But I'm with you 100%. I REALLY want it all to be factory color.

I may be picking up a white bumper from metalman on saturday to rid myself of my cracking one but I'd rather get the car painted. However, I'm on a budget.

And thanks from everyone! :)

That's looking really good! I'm glad you went with those wheels instead of the 522's, seeing as everyone is getting those! Haha. As for painting the hardtop OEM, I'm not sure where you live, but there's a place in Gainesville, called Slack Auto, and they mix OEM color in spray cans. I did that when I needed to repaint my bumper once. It didn't match up perfectly, since that paint was new, and the paint on the rest of the car was about 18 years old, ha. But it's worth a shot! I can't remember how much it cost for a rattle can, it was a little more expensive than a regular spray can. But you should try it! Normally I love black hardtops on other colored cars, but your wheels look gunmetal/silver-ish? so I think the white OEM top looks amazing.

0 offset looks like.....i didnt mess with my fronts, rolled the rear with a heat gun and breaker bar, only scrub on sudden large bumps. I am gonna pull too, or wait to get my flares so i can drop it back down. Those wheels look amazing, you get them off that gomiata sale?

This is what I did to my faded bumpers too. It didn't end up exactly perfect, but its close enough that you can't tell unless you're right at the car. PIC (http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/9148/dsc02254.jpg)

hmmmm... Imma have to check this out. I was also considering doing something a little more radical with my top...

But thanks for the info. I might have to go check that out.

I was also considering colormatching the gunmetal in the wheels with the top... but that would be $$$$$

Thanks. I am gonna have to pull a little too. I love the tires, but they cause problems, lolol. I rolled mine with a tire iron, a handle from the squeegee at a gas station, and a walking stick and I still scrub on some big bumps and cornering quick. I HAVE to fix it bc I love the turns.

So, I haven't updated in a while but, I haven't really done much.

I picked up a DDM Works Intake from RSpeed
Installed side bolts.
Rolled My Fenders
Alignment
Got a cheap header and test pipe - will install this weekend.
Serpentine Belts, Slave... little stuff like that.

I'm looking for a BP to either go straight in, or to rebuild. If anyone knows where I can get one let me know. :D I may chance it on a superjdmtigerjapanesepandabear motor. 861 shipped to my door with the transmission. I would rather get one from someone who knew what they were selling.

Well... The BP4W deal fell through. I did a master and ANOTHER slave cylinder today but that isn't the exciting news. :D

So the car was sitting for only a month. I started it and it was smoking a ton. White smoke but it didn't smell like coolant. Think it was from when the car was flipped?

But I now have a bp4w from a 10ae with a 6 speed. :) I will probably just do a headgasket and throw it in as it is just a DD. They said hey just had the timing belt and water pump done on it.

Shall be fun though. I am super excited.

So, I have not updated in a long time. Heeerre goes. (As always, sorry for the bad phone pics.

The first thing that comes to mind is this.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-7nMxRoSGL8w/Tf6qDVvxbsI/AAAAAAAABew/IfDYHQDHwmw/s640/IMG_20110619_215506.jpg

Most of the damage was on the trunk with 3 other dents on the quarter panels. That led to this:

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pF_bI3GH2TE/ThGvXYGsHKI/AAAAAAAABhE/0KYK7OGMybs/s640/259512_2189873989246_1318985973_32578160_4848911_o .jpg

Before that happened I did a little interior work and came up with this.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LvbtH2nq-Gc/TdzDgR19x9I/AAAAAAAABaI/WokNlvbG3fA/s800/IMAG0098.jpg

And this weekend I will be installing:

A Manual Steering Rack:

The BP4W/6 Speed I bought a while back! This is an old pic, but I don't have any new ones. :(

Sorry I don't have any pics of the entire car. I don't have a real camera and my girlfriend is being selfish with hers lately.

But, I will try to get an actual pic of it after the swap and all. Maybe my GV lip will come in soon and I can pop some pics of it installed.

PS:

Oh yeah... while prepping the trunk for primer I found some bondo... HAGGGGGGGGGGGGGAGAGAHAHAGHGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ..

Therefore:

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-OWNNY_-qads/ThGwQxX8O5I/AAAAAAAABhY/WGuq426gqPk/s800/IMAG0082.jpg

Since the appearance of my car has gone down hill recently I've been looking for some new inspiration. And this is it.

http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/259997_2255528870577_1318985973_32616268_2076951_n .jpg

The car is mis-matched and pieced together but it looks like it has a soul. The beauty of it is in its story (and those Equips). It shouldn't look as good as it does, but it's beautiful to me. That's just why it's a little inspiration to me and my piece.

How does the 99 motor with the 6-speed feel?

It's so much smoother. The 6 speed is really nice as well, and the gears aren't as short as I expected them to be with the 4.1. It pulls hard.

Still, I would like a 3.6 if I had the cash.

Also in preparation, I've installed an LC-1 and a MSPNP2. I don't currently have any pics of the install, but that shall come soon.

I've also got some Watanabe RS that I don't really have any pics of, haha. Here is another bad pic for you to see.

An interior pic! New Joyfast Supershort, gauge hood, Revlimiter guage rings, phone cradle, and position for my gauges! :)

Annnnnnnnnnnddddd.... I put on a set of RB sways. :)

PS: I've not just got a black OEM top, the Carbon Fiber one went away.

What kind of steering wheel is that? I'm looking at some aftermarket options as mine is cracked and faded.

It's a Grant 500. I got it from a friend's father who had it on his Chevelle since the late 70s. :)

They're pretty common and cheap too, you just can't really find them online.

And btw, I just bought this (but not this specific one)

to complete the build!!! :D :D (yes, I got a real one)

This is really getting away from the whole ''daily'' thing now, huh?

Sweet! Time to get boosted. Good job on taking your time and getting the right parts together. Good luck with the build!

They look very retro, racy, and cool, they are a copy of panasports, which are a copy of rose petal wheels etc. hehehe.....

Not what you meant right? ;)
