Gotcha. I included my phone number in the email, so I'll await the email or call hopefully. It was just posted at 11:48 and I emailed at 11:59. Doesn't mean I was first.

I guess. I was just hoping to avoid painting one. If it's in good shape, I'd buy it right now. But looks like I'm too late. Next time, let me know! lol

IDK, I see deals like that pop up every so often. When I was searching for my hardtop, I was pretty desperate and did not have a great job at the time, so I was searching the whole southeast. Snagged mine for $250 in Mississippi.

That was actually the going rate not too long ago before spec racing got so big.

Used hardtops have been a consistent $900-1200 pretty much forever.
Although spec racing does help keep the supply/demand factor constant it really didnt change the values.

Scoring deals from CL is much like standing line at a quarter slot machine with your friends and a bunch of strangers, all taking turns pulling the lever. Eventually someone will get a bucket of quarters. Its all timing and luck....combined with a proper response...AND a seller thats not a retard or unscrupulous.
Bugger! Maybe it was just someone playing a sick trick.
No its for real. I bought it. Its already at my house. :D
Fact is I was already talking to the seller by the time Eric posted it.
It was my day to get the bucket of quarters from the slot machine we call CL.

I was stoked about getting mine with side striker plates for $550. I've been tempted to try to flip it just to find one with a defroster that matched my body color.

That's a good price. I didn't have a Miata when the one I mentioned was sold :( I need to run across a $500-600 hardtop.

Good price. Truth is, $700 or less is always a good price.
I bought a nice red one with defrost, pigtail, and headliner awhile back for $100
The thing is, even if you pay $900 for a nice top its money in the bank.
It sometimes cracks me up how people will fret over spending a couple hundred bucks more
for a hardtop that will actually KEEP its value...but will dump hundreds, even thousands into other crap for their car that loses its value immediately.

Nope, it's black. Look at my sig. :)
Don't you know, I find deals for people looking for particular things. I just don't sell them for a profit. Hmmm... maybe I need to change my work ethics.
Seriously though, I've been helped out by so many people in the past with good deals that when I know someone is looking for something, I just keep my eye out and let them know when something comes up. My way of giving back to my friends and fellow forum members.

Why hell yeah...thats just plain dumb!!
I aint runnin' no Miata charity for brokeass po folks! :D except Jesse maybe. hahahaha
j/k...of course.
In truth providing parts at reasonable prices has made me
MANY friends in the Miata world. Its been alot of fun and rewarding personally
beyond any $$ aspect. Plus, doing so is in my blood, I have parted cars, and bought
& sold them from the very beginning. I would do some of it just for fun if nothing else.
Of course there are always a handful of naysayers that think anyone profiting
from their talents/labors are "screwing" them somehow.
Not implying this toward you at all, just saying.

And that's the big difference, you do it for a living, I expect you to want to make a profit off your work. :)
Whereas I do something else for a living and am happy to search the internet every so often to see what I can find and don't need to make anything off the deal whatsoever.

I have done the same many many times so that is not foreign to me either. :)

Oh, I know that. My point simply was that you mainly make a living off it, you need that profit. No offense implied to your generosity. You've helped me out plenty in the past.

It might be a mutual friend? I know at least two that need tops for race builds.
Its not sold yet but as a couple of good friends/"customers" have already asked within the last month I thought it would be the courteous thing to run it by them first as I agreed to do when they asked. They may have already found what they need or traded for a top by now, who knows!
