I just got an XD-16, and have been struggling where to mount it, I did not want to put it in the radio location or get an a-pillar pod so I finally decided on putting it on the steering column, but screw moss motors for their $30 e-pod, so I got hooked up by my latest sponsor Home Depot Racing.

After I grind the screws so I won't need those double nuts, and paint the hardware flat black it will be baller. Don't hate.

I still don't know If I will fab up some sort of bracket to mount it directly to the column, or if I will just screw it to the plastic cover.

I found another that I really like. It would interfere with the control stalks in our cars (I think) but cool regardless.

That's pretty badass, I think I like the Porsche pod mount better but how would that mount up on The Miata? Can't wait to see what you end up doing

I really dont think it would work - the stalks are too far foreward, but I liked the Idea. I am going to try to hard mount the "L" brackets to the column, probably with a piece of angle aluminum and also have room to mount one of the small LED shift lights, but even If they just get screwed to the access panel on top none of the gauge braketry will really be visible... I'll make it clean as possible.

Worried about it covering the dash lights?

not really. The check engine light is useless, I'll know if the parking brake is on, and besides, its easy enough to lean over and look at them if needed. If it becomes a problem, I'll relocate the lights. In the past I've had gauges in the vents, on the a-pillar, on the outside of the cluster hood, and in the radio location, so far I'm linking this the best.

Once it's painted, should be good to go. I prefer the A-pillar, but this is more front and center. I bought the same gauge. My dad picked the G5, because he likes the needle better. It's a nice gauge as well.

I forgot about this thread. Anyway, it turned out really nice.
