While very cool...it lacks a certain appeal of big round old skool guages....which is my preference. :D

That doesn't surprise me but we also talked about that for what an hour the one day. I just love the fact that one can gain the ability to watch all the extra features which normally requires a sh*t ton of gauges in a nice clean unit and allows for a more stock looking interior.

You forgot fuel pressure too, but it and oil pressure require purchasing their senders serparately. However it does not display fuel tank level.
I'll have some gauges for sale soon if things work out right. :D
the only issue I have with that system is I think its $2000 or something. I'd be all over it for baller status though. This spec miata one is cool too: http://www.miatacage.com/specmiata-pista-p-178.html?osCsid=c008c9ba9e3669c7838bf8220fee4435

$825 is retail from RacePak for the one pictured in this thread. It can be found cheaper though.
Then you have to add senders if you want more than what it comes with, such as oil and fuel pressures.

There was an AIM unit for sale a couple months back for CHEAP with sensors. Ever since I worked with PI Research and MOTEC units I crave one of these. Def. the sexiest gauge setups you can do, but also the most functional.

FM sells something like that which can be used easily with the Hydra. I've thought about getting it...

The one pictured is $725, and is a full standalone. "The Street Dash has all the amenities needed on a street-driven vehicle. Through a combination of your existing sensors and those included in the kit, this dash will provide you with the ability to display engine RPM, speedometer, odometer, water and oil temperature, oil pressure, battery voltage, and fuel level."
I know what going on my wish list.

250-DS-UDXRP: This model comes standard with all the basic instrumentation needed to operate your vehicle. Standard features include engine rpm, water temperature, oil pressure and battery voltage. You can optionally add oil temperature and fuel pressure by simply purchasing the required sender. Need more sensors? The VNet port will allow you to add up to 32 additional channels for the ultimate in expandability. The UDXRP model can record up to 10 minutes of data which you can play back later on the LCD display. You can also upgrade this model to download recorded data to our DataLink PC software for complete analysis. ($825.00)
However, like I said, it can be found elsewhere for cheaper. :) And I'm sorry, I misquoted earlier, I meant oil temp instead of oil pressure. The UDXRP does not have fuel level capability unless you add it. That would be the street model: 250-DS-UDXSR.
250-DS-UDXSR: A display only model for street rods and street machines. This model adds the features that are required on street driven vehicles, such as speedometer, odometer, high beam, parking brake and turn signal indicators. The dash also offers the ability to display water temperature, oil temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, battery voltage and tachometer. ($725.00)

It's in their paper catalog that I have at home.
Is this thing plug and play for the Miata or do you have to make your own harness?
Depending on the simplicity, I woudn't mind having one if I have the spare $700

I am not sure how much is plug and play. I asked the guy selling the car on MT and didn't get to much back other then it wasn't that hard to install, other then installing the speedo.

Sure looks neat. But I bet with the top down when the sun hits it you can't read a thing. And when you are well and truly running the snot out of your car it's a lot easier to glance at a needle sweeping towards a redline than it is to read a sequence of numbers.

Probably a speed sensor that leeches on the speed-o cable like may of the aftermarket cruise control kits have.

If I remember from reading it was sensor that attaches to the driveshaft.

Yup. You can do it that way, or use a custom cable that replaces the one in the tranny. I believe that's what the seller mentioned doing as he called that sensor antiqudated(?). lol
