Have you shaved the head and decked the block yet? Both at max should get you close to 10:1

As far as pistons I have just the opposite, some 7.8:1 GTX units you can have cheap

10:0 is for kids....an LS6 is 12:1 from the factory.

Higher compression and E85 is what a lot of guys are running in DSM's, and other high hp cars now.
